Jammu and Kashmir RTI Act, 2009 is an Act to provide for setting out the regime of right to information for the people of the State to secure access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every pubic authority. Jammu and Kashmir RTI Actis properly implemented at the divisional as well as district level of Health Services, Kashmir,and serves its purpose of making all hospitals, staff (both gazetted and non-gazetted) more responsible.

RTI wing of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir, proactively gives information to information seekers and upload status of RTI applicants on official website.

RTI wing of DHSK comprises of:

1. First Appellate Authority (FAA) – Dr Syed Manzoor Qadri (Deputy Director Schemes)

2. Central Public Information Officer - Dr Nishat Shaheen (Assistant Director HeB)

4. Dealing Assistant – Ms. Anita

At district level Chief Medical Officers are Public Information Officers. First appeals are constantly heard by First Appellate Authority and decisions are given accordingly.
